Tigres UANL reached the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals with a 5-1 home victory over FC Cincinnati, advancing 5-4 on aggregate. Fernando Gorriarán scored deep into stoppage time at Estadio Universitario to complete the recovery from a three-goal first-leg defeat.
Rodrigo Aguirre and Ozziel Herrera each scored twice, putting Tigres ahead in the series early in the second half. Cincinnati responded through Kévin Denkey's header after 65 minutes, levelling the aggregate score and temporarily giving the visitors the advantage on away goals.
Gorriarán struck from outside the area in the eighth added minute after André-Pierre Gignac supplied the assist. Tigres progressed to a quarterfinal against Seattle Sounders, the reigning Leagues Cup champions.
