Gravenfors and Lamontagne win junior dual moguls titles
Both Airolo finals ended 19-16 as Sweden’s strong championship run continued.
Source publication date:
Noel Gravenfors won the men’s dual moguls title at the Freestyle Junior World Championships in Airolo, defeating American Jack Egan 19-16. The eighteen-year-old Swede joined elder brother Filip as a junior world champion after a competition interrupted by fog and difficult weather.
Defending champion Matyas Kroupa took bronze ahead of Japan’s Ryoma Hayashi. Gravenfors’s victory added to Sweden’s earlier individual moguls golds and dual moguls team title, extending the nation’s successful championship campaign without achieving a complete sweep of the final events.
Canada’s Flavie Lamontagne defeated Sweden’s Olivia Hedberg 19-16 in the women’s final. American Victoria Johnson secured bronze by beating Riku Nonobe 22-13. The two individual dual moguls competitions concluded the championship programme in the Swiss venue.
