Gremaud retains Olympic freeski slopestyle title
A second-run score of 86.96 points gave the Swiss skier gold ahead of Eileen Gu.

Mathilde Gremaud retained the Olympic women’s freeski slopestyle title in Livigno with 86.96 points. Her second run defeated Eileen Gu’s opening score of 86.58 by 0.38 points, making Gremaud the event’s first consecutive Olympic champion.
Gu led after an opening run that featured strong rail work. Gremaud responded with 83.60 on her first attempt, including the first nosebutter double cork 1260 landed by a woman in competition, before improving her execution and score on run two.
Gu could not overtake the Swiss skier after errors on the opening rail of her remaining attempts. Canada’s Megan Oldham took bronze, completing a podium featuring the defending champion, the previous Olympic silver medallist and a new Canadian Olympic medallist.
