Guatemala score six in women’s qualifying win
Six different players struck against Grenada.

Guatemala defeated Grenada 6-0 in Group C of Concacaf women’s qualifying at Estadio Cementos Progreso. Six different scorers contributed to the home victory in Guatemala City, with four goals arriving before halftime and two more early in the second period.
Samatha Lopez opened the scoring with a left-footed finish in the seventh minute. Dina Polanco added a long-range strike and Andrea Álvarez made it three, before captain Ana Martin capitalised on a loose ball in the penalty area during first-half stoppage time.
Elizabeth Estrada scored from a free kick shortly after the restart and Aisha Solórzano completed the result in the 50th minute. Guatemala’s next assignment was against the Cayman Islands in March, while Grenada’s remaining meeting with the same opponents was scheduled for April.
