Hernandez penalty rescues Cray against Chatham
The late equaliser produced a 1–1 draw at Flamingo Park.
Source publication date:
Cray Wanderers drew 1–1 with Chatham Town after Alex Hernandez converted a late penalty at Flamingo Park. The result extended Cray's unbeaten sequence to five matches and moved the team up to sixth in the Isthmian Premier table.
The contest remained goalless until the 78th minute, when substitute Nile Ranger finished from close range. Both teams had earlier defended set pieces and relied on goalkeeper Nathan Harvey's saves to keep the match level.
Hernandez was then pushed inside the area and scored from the spot in the 87th minute, registering his fifteenth goal of the season. New signing Ola Ogunwamide made his debut as a substitute and threatened late, but neither side found a winner.
