FIH announced that the 2026 Hockey World Cup draw would take place on 17 March at Amsterdam’s Wagener Stadium. The ceremony is scheduled for 15:00 Central European Time and will be streamed on Watch.Hockey, determining four groups of four teams in each competition.
Nine men’s and nine women’s teams had already qualified. Belgium and the Netherlands entered both fields as hosts, with the other confirmed places awarded through continental championships and the Pro League. Seven additional teams per competition would emerge from the March qualifiers.
The World Cup will run from 15 to 30 August in Amsterdam and Wavre, using the Wagener Stadium and Belfius Hockey Arena. The February announcement settled the draw arrangements ahead of final qualification, enabling teams and supporters to plan around the subsequent allocation of matches between the venues.
