Ikuma Horishima and Jakara Anthony topped the first Olympic moguls qualification round in Livigno. The Japanese man and Australian woman positioned themselves strongly for the finals as competition began at the Games’ moguls and aerials venue.

Horishima scored more than eighty-five points with a controlled run that included a turns score above fifty. Julien Viel placed second in the men’s round, continuing the form that had brought him a first World Cup victory earlier in the season.

Mikaël Kingsbury was third in the men’s qualification after an injury-limited campaign. The round established the leading qualifiers and their places in the subsequent competition, with further qualification and final runs still required before the Olympic medal winners would be determined.
