Source publication date:
Katharina Huber and Ariane Rädler won the Olympic women’s alpine team combined in Cortina d’Ampezzo. Rädler completed the downhill and Huber delivered the slalom run that secured Austria’s title in the event’s first Olympic appearance.
Germany’s Kira Weidle-Winkelmann and Emma Aicher claimed silver, giving Aicher her second silver medal of the Games. Jacqueline Wiles and Paula Moltzan took bronze for the United States, completing a podium of three different national partnerships.
Twenty-eight teams started the competition. Breezy Johnson led the downhill section with 1:36.59, while Italy’s Sofia Goggia crashed and eliminated her partnership with Lara Della Mea. The eventual medal order was decided by adding the two specialists’ times across downhill and slalom.
