Elise Hughes scored in the ninety-third minute to earn Wales a 2-2 draw against Czechia in Women's World Cup qualifying. The substitute headed Gemma Evans' delivery past Olivie Lukasova, completing the visitors' second comeback of their first competitive match since the European Championship.
Eva Bartonova had opened the scoring from a corner after fifteen minutes, before Hannah Cain equalised from Lily Woodham's pass on the half-hour. Wales threatened another goal before the interval, but Lukasova saved from Cain and Angharad James narrowly cleared the crossbar.
Jana Zufankova restored Czechia's lead in the fifty-fourth minute after a free-kick sequence and Bartonova's cross. Wales introduced Hughes and Mared Griffiths to change the attack, with goalkeeper Olivia Clark later denying Polaskova before Hughes' late intervention secured a valuable opening point.
