Hungary’s women’s under-17 team defeated Kosovo 8-3 to retain its League A place in European qualifying. The result gave Hungary three points and third position in the group after earlier defeats to Portugal and Spain during the tournament.
Ramóna Tóth opened the scoring before Kosovo briefly equalised. Hungary then pulled away through Petra Kovács, Olivia Pethe, Panna Farkas and Stefánia Veres, with Veres scoring twice before halftime to give the team a 6-1 advantage at the interval.
Kovács added her second after the break and substitute Eszter Gyurátz completed Hungary’s goals, while Kosovo scored twice more. Coach László Makrai said the team had achieved its main objective of remaining in League A despite conceding avoidable goals and missing additional chances.
