Ionescu and Szocs head Romanian national championship winners
Bernadette Szocs collected three gold medals in Bucharest’s five-event programme.

Eduard Ionescu and Bernadette Szocs won the singles titles at Romania’s national championships in Bucharest. The competition took place at Sala Polivalentă Rapid. Ionescu finished ahead of Iulian Chirița in the men’s final, with Ovidiu Ionescu and Darius Movileanu taking bronze.
Szocs defeated Adina Diaconu to claim women’s singles gold. Elena Zaharia and Andreea Dragoman shared third place. The official championship report recorded further success for Szocs in both doubles categories, adding two more titles to her singles win in the national programme.
Szocs and Elizabeta Samara won women’s doubles ahead of Dragoman and Diaconu. Ionescu teamed with Szocs to take mixed doubles, while Rareș Șipoș and Cristian Pletea won men’s doubles. Ionescu and Movileanu finished second in that event, adding silver to their singles medals.
