Athletics Ireland published its selection process for the IAU hundred-kilometre World Championships in Ames, near A Coruña. The federation set qualifying performances below 7:21:00 for men and below 8:06:00 for women, alongside evidence of consistent results over comparable distances.

Candidates must show current form through marathon-distance or longer races, with ultra-distance results achieved at IAU-labelled events. Eligibility also requires an Irish passport, membership of an affiliated club and freedom from injury at selection.

Expressions of interest are due by 10 April, with the final team scheduled for announcement in the first week of May. Team size will be settled at the concluding meeting, and selected athletes will contribute towards travel costs at a level still to be determined.
