Athletics Ireland confirmed that the national 10km road championships would take place alongside the 2026 Great Ireland Run on a new Phoenix Park route. The federation said entries were filling quickly but guaranteed availability for Athletics Ireland and Athletics Northern Ireland members until 28 February.
Members were also to receive priority access to the lead starting wave and an opportunity to amend or transfer entries within a specified pre-championship window. The announcement directed runners to the event’s entry system.
The published medal structure covered senior and masters individual categories together with club teams. Senior women’s teams would score three aggregate times and senior men’s teams four, while masters team awards were organised in over-35 and over-50 categories.
