ISU announces first Home of Skating in Milan
The private Olympic gathering space will open with a Pop Mart collaboration.
Source publication date:
The International Skating Union announced that its first Home of Skating would open in Milan on 7 February. A private inauguration was planned with president Jae Youl Kim, director general Colin Smith and invited guests, alongside a collaboration with Pop Mart’s collectible character LABUBU.
The federation said the venue would welcome athletes, partners, broadcasters and other stakeholders throughout the Olympics. The project was designed as a meeting space connecting skating’s sporting performances with its artistic expression, rather than a public visitor attraction.
The opening would also mark LABUBU’s first European appearance and coincide with the brand’s tenth anniversary. Although public admission was not planned, the ISU said it would share exclusive content from the venue through its own digital channels.
