Italian archers take part in Winter Olympic torch relay
Nespoli, Boari, Frangilli and Sarti carried the flame in their communities.
Source publication date:
Italian archers joined the Milano Cortina Olympic torch relay before the February opening ceremony. Mauro Nespoli carried the flame near Pavia on 14 January, while Lucilla Boari took her turn in Mantua on 19 January.
Michele Frangilli participated near Lake Maggiore on 15 January and Paralympian Eleonora Sarti carried the torch in central Bologna on 10 January. International judge Martino Miani also took part on 23 January.
World Archery’s 24 January report brought together those completed relay appearances. Additional para archers were still scheduled to participate at that point. The involvement connected Olympic and Paralympic archery representatives with the Winter Games build-up, although archery itself was not on the Winter Olympic competition programme.
