Three venues will host junior and under-18 squads preparing for championships in Rieti and Eugene.
Source publication date:
Italy selected 129 young athletes for national spring training camps from 2 to 4 April. Deputy technical director Tonino Andreozzi called up 64 men and 65 women across the junior and under-18 age groups.
Formia will host sprints, hurdles, jumps and combined events. Throwers and race walkers will train in Tirrenia, while middle-distance athletes will gather at San Rocco a Pilli near Siena. The three-site programme combines event-specific preparation with exchanges between personal coaches and federation staff.
Selected athletes include reigning European under-20 champions Kelly Doualla in the 100m and Francesco Crotti in the triple jump. The season’s principal youth targets are the European Under-18 Championships in Rieti on 16–19 July and World Under-20 Championships in Eugene on 5–9 August.
