Italy earns 24 medals in opening days of European masters indoors
Martinelli and Moroni improve national age-group records during the first three days in Torun.

Italy collected seven golds, nine silvers and eight bronzes across the first three days of the European Masters Indoor Championships in Torun. The seven-day meeting followed the senior World Indoor Championships in the same Polish arena.
Barbara Martinelli won the W60 400m in an Italian age-group best of 1:03.92, ahead of Britain’s Virginia Mitchell in 1:04.60. Maria Costanza Moroni won W55 titles in the hurdles and long jump, setting national marks of 10.06 and 4.80m.
Susanna Tellini won the W60 triple jump with 9.48m, improving the Italian mark throughout her six-jump series. Other Italian golds included Hubert Goller in the M45 javelin at 56.57m, Marco Mastrolorenzi in the M65 high jump at 1.65m and Marina Ivanova in the W45 3,000m walk.
