Italy names 26 athletes for World Indoor Championships
A balanced squad includes defending champions and sixteen-year-old sprint newcomer Kelly Doualla.

Italy selected thirteen men and thirteen women for the World Indoor Championships in Torun. Technical director Antonio La Torre’s 26-athlete squad matched the country’s participation record from Paris in 1997, when relay runners were also included.
Mattia Furlani and Andy Diaz entered as defending world indoor champions in the long jump and triple jump. Nadia Battocletti was selected for her first World Indoor Championships over 3,000m, while Larissa Iapichino brought European indoor long jump credentials.
Kelly Doualla received her first senior championship call-up. At sixteen years and 121 days on 21 March, she was set to become Italy’s youngest World Championships participant. Zaynab Dosso joined the sprint squad after running 6.99, sharing the season’s world lead with Julien Alfred.
