Source publication date:
England under-20s drew 3-3 with Italy at the Riano Athletic Centre near Rome after surrendering a three-goal lead. Thomas Watson struck twice before halftime and Ayden Heaven added a header after the interval for Neil Ryan’s visiting team.
Watson finished a move involving Kieran Morgan and Joel Ndala for the opener, then headed in Kevin Pinto’s cross. Goalkeeper Finlay Herrick also saved Matteo Lavelli’s first-half penalty before Heaven converted Watson’s corner to extend England’s advantage.
Italy answered through Lavelli and Giacomo Stabile, with Dominic Vavassori supplying the late equaliser. The match was England’s sole game of the international window and their second meeting with the Italians since a home fixture in Chesterfield the previous September.
