Source publication date:
Worthing defeated Slough Town 4–1 for their first league victory of the calendar year. Teddy Jenks scored twice before halftime, while Jack Spong converted a penalty and George Cox recorded his first goal for the club.
Jenks opened the scoring in the sixth minute after winning possession. Spong doubled the lead when Adam Desbois fouled Brad Dolaghan, before Jenks added a powerful half-volley. Cox then finished through the goalkeeper's legs to complete the first-half scoring.
Worthing created further opportunities after the break, including chances for Jenks to complete a hat-trick. Slough reduced the deficit through Wiktor Makowski in added time, but the goal was only a consolation as the hosts secured three points.
