Jess Fishlock completes the UEFA A coaching licence
Wales' record appearance holder added a qualification after ending her international playing career.
Source publication date:
Jess Fishlock completed the UEFA A Licence with the Football Association of Wales after retiring from international football. Chief football officer David Adams presented the certificate in March, marking a further step toward coaching for Wales' record appearance holder and leading scorer.
Fishlock finished her national-team playing career with 165 appearances and forty-eight goals after twenty years representing Wales. The UEFA A course is the second-highest professional coaching qualification available in Europe, giving her a new foundation for contributing to the game after retirement.
Adams highlighted the value of prominent former players as coaching role models and support for emerging talent. He also noted that Kayleigh Barton, Elise Hughes, Hayley Ladd and Rhiannon Roberts had gained the same licence, reflecting a broader effort to increase women's presence in Welsh coaching.
