Jimena Diaz wins first circuit title after Joinville comeback
The eighteen-year-old partnered Ainize Santamaria in a women’s final lasting more than three hours.

Jimena Diaz won her first CUPRA FIP Tour title at eighteen years old in Joinville. Partnering Ainize Santamaria, she defeated Manuela Schuck and Cristina Cirna 6–7, 7–6, 6–2 in the women’s Bronze final, recovering after losing the opening set in a tiebreak.
Santamaria said the final lasted more than three hours. The champions had beaten Alessandra Abbud and Fernanda Abarzúa 6–3, 6–2 in the semifinals. Their final opponents had eliminated top seeds Camila Ramme and Catarina Santos 7–5, 4–6, 6–0 to reach the decider.
Diaz had previously reached the Melbourne Bronze final in January. Santamaria added this trophy to her Bronze title in Denia the previous November and a February final in the Valencian Community. Both winners highlighted their mental strength through the difficult Brazilian tournament matches.
