Johnson’s seventh three-pointer lifts Tasmania past New Zealand
The JackJumpers won 91–89 to strengthen their hold on the final NBL playoff position.

David Johnson scored 33 points and hit the deciding three-pointer as Tasmania defeated New Zealand 91–89 at MyState Bank Arena. His seventh long-range basket, with 13.5 seconds remaining, restored the JackJumpers’ lead in a direct contest for sixth place.
Tasmania had led by as many as 13 in the third quarter, but the Breakers fought back and moved ahead late through Parker Jackson-Cartwright. Johnson finished seven of eleven from beyond the arc, while Majok Deng added 17 and Josh Bannan recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Izaiah Brockington led New Zealand with 24, including six three-pointers. The result improved Tasmania to 13–17 and left the Breakers 11–18, increasing the difficulty of their pursuit of the final postseason berth.
