Johor take a two-goal lead over ten-man Hiroshima
Three second-half goals delivered a 3-1 first-leg victory in Malaysia.

Johor Darul Ta’zim defeated Sanfrecce Hiroshima 3-1 to take control of their AFC Champions League Elite round-of-sixteen tie. The home side made their numerical advantage count after Kim Joo-sung received a second yellow card during the first half.
The opening period ended without a goal despite both teams striking the woodwork. Johor’s Nacho Mendez hit the post and Joao Figueiredo struck the crossbar, while Hiroshima also came close through Hayato Araki.
Ager Aketxe broke the deadlock after the interval with a curling shot, before Bergson da Silva doubled the lead. Marcus Guilherme added a third on the counterattack late in the match. Nene’s own goal immediately reduced the margin, giving Hiroshima a reply ahead of the return fixture.
