Source publication date:
Kaposvár defeated GEN-I Volley Nova Gorica 3–1 away to secure a women’s Challenge Cup semi-final berth. The result followed a straight-set home victory in the first leg, giving the Hungarian club a clear aggregate success in the quarter-final contest.
The visitors won the first set 25–20, then used strong serving and defensive organisation to take the second 25–13. Those opening sets settled qualification, despite tactical changes and periods of resistance from the Slovenian side in front of their supporters.
GEN-I recovered to win the third 25–16 after a line-up adjustment and improved blocking. Kaposvár responded by taking the fourth 25–14, completing the match victory. The return also provided international playing experience for younger members of the home squad during the tournament’s latter stages.
