Kartal defeats Keys for second consecutive Indian Wells fourth round
The British player recovered from an opening-set loss against the former semifinalist.

Sonay Kartal defeated Madison Keys 2–6, 6–2, 6–3 to reach the Indian Wells fourth round for a second consecutive year. The comeback delivered her fifth career top-twenty victory and made her the first British woman to reach that stage twice at the tournament.
Keys dominated early with twenty-five opening-set winners, but Kartal improved her serving and rally tolerance. She won eighty-six percent of second-serve points in the second set, faced no break points and committed only one unforced error while forcing a decider.
The final set stayed on serve through seven games before Kartal earned the crucial break. She then held to finish in just under two hours, continuing a run that already included a saved match point against Emma Navarro and setting a meeting with Elena Rybakina.
