Kennedy and Sobhy reach Cincinnati title match

Georgina Kennedy and Amanda Sobhy reached the Cincinnati Gaynor Cup final after straight-games semifinal wins. The top two seeds defeated Salma Hany and Jasmine Hutton respectively, setting up the expected championship meeting at the Silver tournament in the United States.
Kennedy beat Hany 12-10, 12-10, 11-5 in 33 minutes at Cincinnati Country Club. Her victory reversed the outcome of their Manchester Open final, with two closely contested opening games putting the English player in control.
Sobhy defeated fellow left-hander Hutton 11-6, 11-6, 11-8 in 32 minutes. The American’s advance took her into the final of the Gaynor Cup for the third time, with Kennedy standing between her and the title.
