Kerr and Adcock open outdoor season with leading marks
New Zealand’s high jump champion and Australia’s long jumper headline FIDAL’s international weekend roundup.

Hamish Kerr began his season with a 2.28m high jump victory at the New Zealand championships in Auckland. The Olympic champion’s clearance led the outdoor world list at the time, before three unsuccessful attempts at 2.32m.
Eliza McCartney vaulted 4.81m at the same championships, placing second on the season’s world list. Tom Walsh won the shot put with 21.10m ahead of Jacko Gill’s 20.64m, while sixteen-year-old Sam Ruthe ran 3:41.43 in the 1,500m.
In Brisbane, Liam Adcock jumped 8.23m to take the outdoor long jump world lead. The indoor season also continued in Rouen, where Emmanouil Karalis and Sondre Guttormsen both cleared 6.06m; Guttormsen’s performance established a Norwegian record.
