Kingsbury wins first Olympic men’s dual moguls title
The Canadian beat Horishima 30–5 in the final at his fourth Olympics.
Source publication date:
Mikaël Kingsbury won the inaugural Olympic men’s dual moguls title in Livigno, defeating Ikuma Horishima 30–5 in the final. The Canadian secured the new discipline’s gold at his fourth and final Olympic appearance, after taking silver in individual moguls.
Both finalists landed cork tens on the opening jump. Horishima initially moved ahead, but lost control before the lower jump and could not complete another trick. Kingsbury stayed composed and landed his bottom-air jump to finish the deciding run.
Horishima took silver after surviving difficult earlier rounds, including one in which he crossed the line backwards. Kingsbury’s victory added an Olympic dual moguls title to his extensive record across individual moguls, World Cup races and world championships.
