Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo won the men’s World Cup sprint final in Lahti ahead of Norwegian teammate Lars Heggen. Klaebo moved clear late in the race and finished 0.42 seconds ahead, while France’s Jules Chappaz beat Switzerland’s Janik Riebli to third place.

Heggen had reached the final as a lucky loser after finishing behind Klaebo and Riebli in their semifinal. His runner-up result contributed to Norway winning nineteen of the season’s twenty-one men’s individual World Cup races, with fourteen Norwegian one-two finishes.

Earlier rounds featured falls involving Lucas Chanavat and Jaume Pueyo, removing both from contention. Klaebo acknowledged fatigue after his Olympic campaign but continued racing successfully in Lahti, where the following day’s programme included a separate ten-kilometre classic interval start.
