Jessica Pegula withdrew from the Austin tournament with a left knee injury before her scheduled opening match against Rebecca Sramkova. The top seed and defending champion announced the decision on her thirty-second birthday, shortly after winning the Dubai title.

Pegula had played five matches in five days during the WTA 1000 event, including consecutive three-set contests. Her strong opening to the season had produced a 13–2 record and semifinal appearances at seven consecutive tournaments stretching back to the previous US Open.

Lucky loser Yuan Yue, the Austin champion in 2024, replaced Pegula in the draw. Iva Jovic became the highest remaining seed, while Pegula’s next scheduled tournaments were Indian Wells and Miami.
