The United States defeated Finland 5–0 to reach two wins in Olympic women’s hockey group A. Captain Hilary Knight scored her fourteenth career Olympic goal, tying the American record shared with Katie King and Natalie Darwitz during her fifth appearance at the Games.

Megan Keller contributed a goal and two assists. Taylor Heise and Abbey Murphy each scored and assisted, while Alex Carpenter supplied the other American goal. The United States converted two power plays and finished with a 49–11 advantage in shots.

Aerin Frankel recorded her first Olympic shutout, supporting an American side that had beaten Czechia in its opener. Finland, the bronze medallist at the previous Games and World Championship, struggled to match the speed and scoring quality of the reigning world champions.
