Ku Bonchan returns to Korea’s national archery pool
March trials selected 32 archers before further international-team evaluations.
Source publication date:
Korea completed the March stage of its national archery selection at the Kim Sunyeong range in Cheongju. Trials held from 16 to 20 March produced a 32-athlete pool: eight archers in each men’s and women’s recurve and compound category.
Olympic champion Ku Bonchan returned to the pool ten years after his last international appearance. Fourteen-year-old Kang Yeonseo earned a first selection, while Lim Sihyeon finished tenth in women’s recurve and missed the eight available places.
Kim Je Deok led the men’s recurve ranking and Jang Minhee topped the women’s. The March pool was an intermediate selection, with two further evaluation rounds still required to decide the front-line international team. It therefore preceded the later announcement of Korea’s final travelling squad.
