Minja Korhonen and Jens Luraas Oftebro received the women’s and men’s Athlete of the Year honours at the Nordic Combined Awards in Oslo. Competitors selected those winners themselves for the first time, with each athlete casting one vote in each category without a preset nominee list.

Fans voted Finland Nation of the Year after a season featuring three Olympic medals and several World Cup victories. Korhonen’s maiden Lahti win earned the women’s Moment of the Year award, while Eero Hirvonen’s Olympic bronze won the men’s equivalent.

The Holmenkollen ceremony also recognised four departing athletes: Akito Watabe, Johannes Rydzek, Alessandro Pittin and Espen Andersen. Their farewells concluded an evening combining peer recognition, public voting and tributes to careers ending after the season finale.
