Korhonen tops women’s provisional round at Lahti premiere
The Finnish jumper led Brabec and Hagen before the first women’s World Cup at the venue.

Minja Korhonen won the women’s provisional competition round ahead of Lahti’s first women’s Nordic Combined World Cup. The Finnish athlete jumped 123.5 metres, the longest effort of the session, and scored 120.1 points at the Salpausselkä Ski Stadium in bright sunshine.
American Alexa Brabec finished second with 111 points from 119.5 metres. Overall World Cup leader Ida Marie Hagen took third on 100.2 points after jumping 116 metres, completing the leading group before the venue’s historic women’s combined competition began.
Twenty-three athletes representing ten nations participated, each taking a training jump before the provisional round. The individual Gundersen event was scheduled to follow on Friday, with a separate jumping phase and subsequent cross-country race still required to determine the World Cup winner.
