Distria Krasniqi won her fourth Paris Grand Slam title by defeating Ariane Toro Soler in the women’s under-52kg final. The Kosovan used an initial foot technique to test the Spaniard’s balance before following with an ashi-guruma that finished the contest.
The result added to Krasniqi’s extensive medal record across world championships, Olympic Games and the international tour. Toro Soler received silver after reaching the final through a strong day of competition in Paris, where the category formed part of the first-day programme.
Germany’s Mascha Ballhaus won bronze against Larissa Pimenta after the Brazilian received a third penalty in golden score. Amandine Buchard earned the other bronze for France against Korea’s Seyun Jang, completing the match through a de-ashi-harai approximately ninety seconds into their contest.
