Dean Kukan scored at 1:49 of overtime as Switzerland defeated Czechia 4–3 to take second place in Olympic men’s hockey group A. The defender entered the attacking zone and beat Lukas Dostal with a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle.

Roman Josi and Timo Meier each scored and assisted in regulation, with Pius Suter adding another Swiss goal. Martin Necas led Czechia with a goal and two assists, while Filip Chlapik and Radek Simek also found the net.

Czechia equalised twice during the third period to force overtime. Switzerland preserved its challenge despite the absence of injured forward Kevin Fiala, whose tournament had ended in the previous game against Canada. Both teams moved towards the qualification stage after completing their preliminary schedules.
