Kulbin sets sights on home biathlon championships
The Estonian discussed Olympic disappointment and renewed confidence after junior medals.
Source publication date:
Jakob Kulbin reflected on his progression from the Junior Cup to Estonia’s Olympic and World Cup teams in a new IBU interview. The twenty-year-old stressed concentrating on his own skiing and shooting regardless of the level of competition, rather than changing his approach for a larger stage.
He acknowledged disappointment with his Olympic prone shooting after qualifying for the national team in November. Subsequent junior silver and bronze medals in Arber restored confidence, leaving him feeling more comfortable on the tracks and at the range before returning to Otepää.
The 2027 home World Championships became his next major target. His earlier development included Estonia’s first World Cup leader bib through the under-twenty-three standings after twelfth place in Östersund’s individual race.
