Kvandal completes Willingen ski jumping double
The Norwegian recovered from fourth after the opening round to win again before the Olympics.

Eirin Maria Kvandal won the final women’s ski jumping competition in Willingen, completing consecutive victories at the German World Cup stop. A second jump of 138.5 metres brought her total to 251.8 points after she had stood fourth following the opening round.
Nozomi Maruyama finished second with 243.9 points, and Nika Prevc took third. Prevc recovered from eighth through a 146-metre final jump, the longest of the competition, but could not overtake either rival.
The event also brought a first career top-ten result for American Josie Johnson. Germany’s Katharina Schmid finished eleventh in her final home World Cup appearance before her planned retirement after Milano Cortina.
