Laegreid edges Perrot in Oslo pursuit photo finish
Both men shot clean and recorded the same time after a final-loop duel.
Source publication date:
Sturla Holm Laegreid defeated Eric Perrot in a photo finish to win the men’s twelve-and-a-half-kilometre pursuit at Holmenkollen. Both athletes hit all twenty targets and recorded 30:31.4, with the Norwegian reaching beyond his French rival at the line after a close sprint.
Perrot shot faster during both standing stages, but Laegreid recovered the small deficits on the course. They entered the stadium almost level, and Perrot challenged again over the final hundred metres before the finish image separated them for first place.
Emilien Jacquelin finished third with two penalties, 23.2 seconds behind. Laegreid extended his consecutive winning sequence to seven events including relays, while Perrot added the pursuit discipline title to his season achievements.
