Laegreid leads throughout Otepää pursuit victory
One penalty and controlled shooting produced a margin exceeding two minutes.
Source publication date:
Sturla Holm Laegreid won the men’s pursuit in Otepää from start to finish, completing the race in 33:14.6. His third individual victory in six days came with one shooting penalty, while strong winds and softening tracks complicated the challenge for his closest opponents.
Emilien Jacquelin reduced the gap to three seconds after the second prone stage. Two misses at the first standing bout then gave Laegreid control, and the Frenchman eventually finished second with five penalties, 2:20.9 behind. Martin Uldal placed third, 2:46.7 back.
Campbell Wright climbed from twenty-first at the start to a season-best fourth place. Sebastian Samuelsson and Fabien Claude completed the leading six, while Laegreid’s final standing miss left his substantial advantage intact.
