Laegreid wins fourth consecutive individual race in Oslo
The sprint result also secured Perrot’s overall title and Norway’s Nations Cup.
Source publication date:
Sturla Holm Laegreid won the men’s ten-kilometre sprint at Holmenkollen in 25:21.4 with one shooting penalty. His fourth consecutive individual victory put him 3.9 seconds ahead of Emilien Jacquelin and 4.6 ahead of Eric Perrot, both of whom also missed one target.
Laegreid recovered from a prone miss by cleaning standing and leaving two seconds behind Jacquelin. A stronger final loop overturned that deficit. Mild conditions prompted officials to move the blue start group earlier in the programme instead of its usual position.
Perrot’s third place clinched his first overall Crystal Globe, making him the fifth French winner. Norway regained the men’s Nations Cup with 7,466 points against France’s 7,027, its eighth victory in nine seasons.
