Johannes Lamparter led the men’s provisional competition round for the Nordic Combined World Cup finale in Oslo. The Austrian recorded the longest jump of the session at 130 metres and scored 130.9 points despite dense fog affecting visibility on the hill.
Japan’s Ryota Yamamoto placed second with 124.5 points after jumping 129 metres. Thomas Rettenegger completed the leading three on 117.8 points from 127 metres, giving Austria two of the session’s strongest performances before the final combined competition.
Fifty-two athletes from eleven nations were listed for training and the provisional round. Rettenegger also received the season’s Best Jumper Trophy. The separate final event still required its scheduled jumping round and cross-country race to decide the last World Cup winner.
