Max Langenhan won Olympic men’s singles luge in Cortina d’Ampezzo with a total of 3:31.191. He set a track record in each of the four runs to earn his first Olympic medal, improving on sixth place at Beijing 2022.

Jonas Müller took silver for Austria, 0.596 seconds behind, while Italy’s Dominik Fischnaller claimed bronze, 0.934 back. Latvia’s Kristers Aparjods finished fourth after a weaker third run left the medal positions beyond his reach.

Langenhan had required treatment for significant neck pain before the opening runs. Despite that difficulty, the world champion converted consistent speed into Germany’s twelfth men’s singles luge title across the seventeen Olympic editions held since the sport’s introduction in 1964.
