Elizabeth Lemley won Olympic women’s moguls gold in Livigno, leading an American one-two ahead of Jaelin Kauf. The twenty-year-old Olympic debutant scored 82.30 points in the super final, several months after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Lemley completed her run in 25.81 seconds and landed two cork sevens. Kauf was faster through the course at 25.11 seconds but finished on 80.77 points, securing silver for a second American place on the podium.
France’s Perrine Laffont took bronze. Defending champion Jakara Anthony, who had led the first final, lost control after her opening jump in the super final and could not retain the title. The decisive round followed qualification and an initial final earlier that day.
