Eteri Liparteliani and Timur Arbuzov received the female and male judoka awards as the IJF presented its 2025 honours during the Paris Grand Slam. Liparteliani also won Moment of the Year for becoming Georgia’s first women’s world champion.

The public vote selected three nominees in each of eight categories before an expert panel chose the winners. Muhiddin Asadulloev was named Rising Star, Georgia’s coaching team earned the coaching award and Kazbek Naguchev won Ippon of the Year.

Development projects were recognised alongside elite performance. The Diyora Keldiyorova Judo Club in Uzbekistan won the children’s project award. A regional programme led by Zambia with Zimbabwe and Malawi won the peace award for its work in refugee camps, reaching more than 1,500 participants.
