Liverpool’s under-21 side beat West Bromwich Albion 4-3 in Premier League 2 at Kirkby. Rob Page’s team fell behind twice before goals from Trey Nyoni, Rio Ngumoha and Kieran Morrison established an advantage that survived the visitors’ late pressure.

Miller McDonald scored West Brom’s opener before Will Wright equalised after receiving Nyoni’s through pass. A Noah Adekoya own goal restored the away side’s lead, but Nyoni quickly made it level again and Ngumoha’s powerful finish put Liverpool ahead before the interval.

Morrison added the fourth early in the second half. Ryan Colesby reduced the deficit for West Brom, but Liverpool retained their one-goal margin to take the points from an open, closely contested academy match.
