Scottish Squash and Squash Australia confirmed that Greg Lobban had begun the process of obtaining Australian citizenship. The Scotland-born world No. 22 has family connections to Australia through his wife Donna, a former professional player and Commonwealth Games gold medallist.
Scottish Squash said he had withdrawn from consideration for the forthcoming European Team Championships. Its statement identified May 2028 as a potential point for Australian representation, subject to the eligibility requirements that must be met.
Squash Australia said citizenship would allow him to pursue representative selection under its applicable policies. Lobban’s Scottish career includes sixteen PSA titles, five national championships and a Commonwealth Games bronze medal with Rory Stewart in 2022.
