Lozbers and Lindkvist-Floetten win junior biathlon opening titles
Latvia won youth men’s gold and Sweden the junior men’s individual race in Arber.

Rihards Lozbers won youth men’s individual gold on the opening day of the Biathlon Youth and Junior World Championships in Arber. The Latvian recorded the fastest skiing time and finished nearly two minutes clear despite three missed prone shots.
Ukraine’s Taras Tarasiuk took silver for his first individual podium, while Bulgaria’s Georgi Dzhorgov earned bronze, just two tenths ahead of Nans Madelenat. Lozbers hit all ten standing targets to protect the advantage created by his skiing.
Philip Lindkvist-Floetten won junior men’s gold for Sweden with perfect shooting after starting eighty-fourth in a ninety-three-athlete field. France’s Léo Carlier claimed silver and Estonia’s Jakob Kulbin bronze, while Camille Grataloup-Manissolle finished fourth and received the individual discipline globe.
