Luc Tardif announces he will leave IIHF presidency at the end of his term
The president will remain in office until October after deciding against seeking re-election.
Source publication date:
Luc Tardif will not seek another term as president of the International Ice Hockey Federation. The IIHF announced his decision in March and confirmed that he would continue leading the organisation until his mandate concludes in October.
Tardif was elected in 2021 after more than two decades of involvement in international hockey. The federation credited his presidency with the ICE 26 strategic plan, the management of Olympic tournaments during the pandemic and stronger relationships with major professional leagues and player organisations.
During the remaining months of his term, Tardif was to oversee development initiatives, commercial work and preparations for upcoming championships and the 2030 Winter Olympics. The announcement marked a planned transition rather than an immediate departure from office.
